SELECT REVIEWS:

"Everything hinges on Blane's performance. Open and emotional and in-your-face."- Eye on Film, Fresh Tomato Review, "He may be a dork, but his pure intentions make even his most transgressive behaviour seem innocent...It's also disarmingly entertaining to follow Mark on this odyssey." - Rich Cline, Fresh Tomato Review. "Blane is unquestionably fascinating and so completely absorbed in his character" - Roger Dack, Edge Media, "Fresh" - LA Times, "Similar to Tim Robinson or Will Ferrell...Joyous anarchy!" - Fresh Tomato, Queer Essential

"Mark Blane is not only the director and screenwriter of the film, but also the actor playing the protagonist alter-ego, as did Xavier Dolan in his earliest and most intimate works that consecrated him a very successful queer author and celebrity. Cubby, therefore, could anticipate the birth of a new personality in the future of American queer cinema or, at least, a new name worth watching in its ranks." - Cinefilia Ritrovata, Bologna

"A fierce debut by Mark Blane" - Susan Stover (Producer High Art, Welcome to the Dollhouse) "His performance is kaleidoscopic and engrossing" - Jonathan Caouette (Cannes Queer Palm and Golden Camera Nominee)
